About Jessica
My therapeutic approach is guided by curiosity, compassion, and deep listening. I strive to create a therapeutic space that is nonjudgemental, and supports your unique unfolding - not through a focus on change, but by creating the right conditions for growth. I will join you as a companion on your journey of self, and together, we will uncover your innate gifts and wisdom to help you realign and recalibrate.
I draw from my background in working with families & children, as well as my training in trauma treatment, physiological science, and mindfulness. I rely on both ancient modalities and modern science to support you with humor, mindfulness, and curated care.
In my personal life, I enjoy spending abundant, unstructured time with my spouse and our young child, practicing yoga, and reading fiction.
I love quickly and deeply, and I both seek and find meaning in relationship with others. I am a lifelong learner, and enjoy exploring the internal worlds of myself and others with curiosity and an open mind.
It is important to me that I engage in movement practices, and am motivated by doing so with friends, in community, and/or in nature. I am a trained yoga teacher and teach family yoga classes through one of my local libraries. It may surprise you to know that I find yoga to be quite difficult for my body, which is one of the reasons I benefit so much from this practice and feel inspired to share it with others. It is a reminder in my life that perfection is not an achievable or worthy goal, only practice. As in the tantric yoga philosophy, the goal is not to transcend my challenges. The practice is to embrace the totality of my experience while I am here in this time and mind and body, with all of the light and all of the dark that comes with it.
